Matthew Walker Surgery Club promotes the education of all medical students with an emphasis in the field of surgery. The club's activities provide a blend of educational styles: critical thinking for the anatomy mock practical, dexterity and technique in the suturing workshop, and experiential knowledge from guest speaker lectures. The club allows students to learn more about the surgical field, application and match process for surgical residency, curriculum vitae development, and residency programs in surgery. Although focused on surgery related topics, these experiences help build the fundamental skills necessary for students to succeed in all fields of medicine.
