About Us

The Cardiology Interest Group (CIG) aspires to provide medical students with critical exposure and experience in the field of cardiology through interactive presentations, shadowing programs, and research opportunities. The purpose of our organization is to 1: Provide a means of exposure to cardiology and related fields to students at Meharry Medical College through organized lectures and presentations by cardiac professionals. 2. Organize physician-shadowing opportunities within Nashville General Hospital. 3. Provide opportunities for students to present topics or original research related to cardiology during meetings. 4. Disseminate information regarding potential research opportunities (i.e. projects for medical students, poster presentation opportunities and relevant conferences) to members.
